OOTD: "I'm Taking Over Control"

I'm sure you've heard the saying "never sacrifice comfort for style" many, many times. Well, who says you have to? The truth is, it's perfectly possible to be both comfortable and fashionable at the same time. My OOTD is proof of that.

Today I went for a sports luxe vibe by keeping things simple yet chic. The key is to avoid looking boring and too simple by choosing pieces with a slightly dramatic silhouette and interesting twists. Take this top that I'm wearing for instance. The leather details on the arms makes it more than just a basic black top, not to mention the fact that it also has a powerful silhouette.

I paired the top with my favorite ripped boyfriend jeans to keep everything laidback and polished off the look with my new snakeskin sneakers. Choosing the right type of shoes can really make a difference to your outfit. Sure, I may look as casual as they come because I'm wearing sneakers, but the fact that mine are snakeskin helped to elevate my entire ensemble and take it into more fashionable territory. 

(Lesson of the day: Never underestimate the power of shoes!)
