FASHION TIP: "Metallics For Daytime"

Remember the gold leggings that I wore a few days ago (see here)? Well, I've had a lot of people telling me that they really liked it but are unsure about how to make it work during the daytime.  I guess my outfit at the time was a bit too dressy for everyday wear, so I decided to wear those leggings again but this time, I styled it in a way that's more casual and easier to pull off during the day. You know me . . . I like defying fashion rules every time I get the chance to, so hopefully this post will show you that metallics are not just appropriate for evenings and parties.

It's all about what you pair the leggings with. Opt for a basic top or sweater in a neutral color to counteract the "shock" factor of the metallic leggings. By playing down the boldness of the gold, it creates a more toned down look, which can be easily worn for a casual day out.

As for the shoes, choose a pair that looks casual and comfortable, like slip-ons or espadrilles. Keep in mind that the objective here is to not look too glamorous, because the leggings is already quite eye-catching. You can even steer clear of accessories in general if you want to, but personally I wouldn't feel right without my signature statement necklace.
