Just The Basics

You don't always have to dress up like you just came out straight from a magazine cover. Sure, it's fun piling on those accessories and looking glamorous, but sometimes it's also nice to be simple. When people get used to seeing you so dolled up all the time, chances are they won't notice you anymore if you're wearing something extra special because they're used to seeing you so fancy on a daily basis.

That's why it's better not to overdo it every single day. That way, it will have more of an impact on people when you DO dress up extra nice.

Today, I chose to "stick with the basics" -- a blazer, shirt, leggings, and boots and I was good to go!

As you can see, I'm not wearing any accessories at all, which is strange because I rarely go out of the house without a huge chunky necklace lol. But I'm keeping it simple and classic today. A girl from school who loves to criticize me and my style told me that I do not have good fashion sense and that I simply "rely on accessories to look good". Well, I hope I'm proving her wrong with this ensemble. After all, photos speak louder than words ;)

It's best when you know your "safe" outfit combination -- that mix of those tried & tested go-to pieces that you can just throw on when you don't have enough time to think about your outfit. For me, it's definitely a blazer, shirt, and leggings. I've found it to be an unbeatable combo for me.

I know, I know. It's way too hot to be wearing boots here in the Philippines, even if it's December. But cut me some slack because I spent the day at the mall, and since it's an air-conditioned building, I figured wearing boots was acceptable.
