It's quite discomforting how quickly time passes. It feels like only yesterday that my family and I packed up the Christmas decorations and suddenly here we are, a year later, about to set up our Christmas tree once again.
It's also funny how day by day, nothing seems to change, and yet we wake up one day and suddenly everything is different.
I wish time could stop moving for a while so I can catch my breath. That is why I have this weird hatred for museums, because I'm jealous of the way all the statues, paintings, and everything in them stay the same, no matter how many years pass. Everything just stays exactly the same and it's not fair. Why can't my life be that way?
I'm sorry for the slightly depressing blog posts lately. I'm just in one of those moods, I guess. Anyway, let's move on to my outfit of the day :)
What do you guys think of this ensemble? I know I've mentioned before that I stay away from the color brown most of the time, but I found this gorgeous jacket from Tomato and I simply couldn't resist! This particular shade doesn't seem to wash out my complexion though. It actually brightens it up a bit.
BROWN SUEDE JACKET from Tomato
STRIPED TOP from Zara
RIPPED ACID-WASHED JEANS from Funky Rebels
RED VELVET SANDALS from The Shoe Lounge
WHITE CITY BAG from Balenciaga
STATEMENT NECKLACE from Chick Flick
I love these ripped acid-washed jeans! They're so edgy and I can dress them up or down depending on my mood. Today I had nothing special planned so I opted for a more relaxed and casual look. Actually I was inspired by the character Serena van der Woodsen from Gossip Girl, who wore a similar outfit in the Season 1 pilot episode.
I was watching a marathon of Gossip Girl a few days ago and Serena's look really caught my eye. I just knew I had to incorporate it into my next ensemble.
I also love my necklace from Chick Flick! It's such a statement piece and it goes well with anything. The gold and silver buttons really give it an elegant vibe, don't you think?
Some people have been asking me when the best time is to take outfit shots. For me, I've found that early morning is the best because of the soft lighting. Late afternoon is also great because the slowly dimming sunlight can give the most beautiful effect on photos. Noontime is the absolute worst because that is when the sun is at its harshest peak, and the strong light just washes out all the colors and the details of your outfit, so if you're a blogger, avoid taking outdoor outfit shots from 12:00 to 17:00.
Before I end this blog post I would just like to thank all of the people who commented on my previous post about 'moving on'. I really do appreciate all of the comments, especially those who encouraged me to move forward with my life.
Have a happy weekend, everyone!
