'All I Wanna Know' by CRITICS

I love discovering new music and bands and sharing them with other people, hoping it'll change their lives the same way those bands have changed mine. This week I stumbled upon a song called 'All I Wanna Know' by a London-based band called CRITICS and couldn't wait to share it with you.

Right upon listening to the first few seconds of the song I was immediately reminded of old-school Panic! At The Disco circa the Fever You Can't Sweat Out era. It has that distinctive indie rock sound with just the right amount of mainstream appeal.

'All I Wanna Know', which was released on March 3 and is featured on CRTICS' EP called 'Spilt Milk', is about the aftermath of an unhealthy relationship's fallout. Boasting raw and honest lyrics sung by lead singer Lynn Paighton, the music video for the track was directed by Mathew Daley.

“It deals with letting go of people who choose to leave our lives, it challenges those who doubted you face on by detailing the want for revenge in the best way – success,” explains Paighton.

The band, which also consists of Jack Lawson and Jamie Lowes, spent almost all of last year perfecting their sound in the recording studio. They have already played as supporting acts to several bands including Drowners and The Virginmarys, and are currently in the middle of a short tour around the UK this month supporting the band Vukovi.

The track's lyrical content makes it extremely relatable as it touches on a universal issue experienced by almost everybody at one point or another in their lives. I don't know about you, but I've definitely had my fair share of experiences trying to move on from people who turned out to be nothing but temporary.
