You Never Could Control Me

Today I'm featuring this gorgeous statement necklace from Something Borrowed. I felt like I was channeling my inner Cleopatra while wearing this piece, and it has quickly become my favorite accessory at the moment. Trust me, no one ignored me when I had this on! This necklace is a definite showstopper.

Because the necklace itself is already quite extravagant, I kept my outfit a little bit casual with chambray, jeans, and sandals.

Fashion tip: If you're going to dress down and wear basic pieces, choose ones that are bright and bold in color in order to spice things up. Blue and red are one of my personal favorite color combinations, but you should go with whatever you are comfortable with and suits your style.

I may be wearing a simple jacket and jeans, but because of the colors that I chose, I still ended up with an ensemble that looks well put-together.
