Icarus

Okay, there's three things I want all of you to focus on in today's OOTD: my top, my bag, and my shoes. Let's start with my top, shall we?

This is one of my own personal designs. What do you think? I've always wanted to have my own clothing line, and upon seeing so many of my Thai friends doing the same thing and building successful online businesses, I decided to give it a go. Of course, I do not by any means consider myself a "designer" yet. I'm still studying in college and won't be pursuing this dream of mine at least until I graduate, but I thought I could start off by sketching a few simple designs and having them made and brought to life with the help of my friend's clothing factory in Thailand. I will be selling this piece in my Instagram store very soon (sizes will be available from S-L) so follow @TheStyleTaboo and watch out for it!

Most of you know that I love wearing blazers, but I figured that living here in the Philippines, I needed something cooler and more flowy, and since I wear my blazers over my shoulders as a cape most of the time, I came up with this design that looks a bit like a cross between a cape and a blazer. I'd really love to know what you guys think, so don't forget to leave a comment later! Let's now move on to my bag . . .

I'm sure a lot of you are surprised that I'm wearing a cloth bag, right? These bags are actually a trend all over the world right now. It says "My other bag is . . ." and then there's a photo of a Louis Vuitton Neverfull. Isn't it clever? Even though I'm addicted to designer handbags, sometimes I do not like carrying expensive purses everywhere I go (I do live in Manila, after all LOL), so this cute tote is such a convenient alternative for such occasions. I can wear something inexpensive AND still let people know that I own a Louis Vuitton at home. What more could you ask for? These totes come in various designs that feature several different designer bags like the famous Hermes Birkin and Celine luggage tote, so I'm sure you could find something that suits you personally! I will be selling these in my Instagram store as well, so if you haven't already, go follow @TheStyleTaboo!

Now let's take a look at my shoes! (Sorry for the long post, but this is the last item, I swear!)

A while back I blogged about updating my "shoe wardrobe", so I was ecstatic when I was given this pair of sandals by Sole Mates PH! Aren't they great? They're super casual and extremely comfortable. Plus, I love the little padlocks attached to them. They match the locks on my Louis Vuitton speedies so well!

  1. Wow that's so awesome that you can design your own clothes and actually have them made! And that's a really nice design. It definitely looks unique and I love all the details like the zipper at the front and the back :D

The bag is really interesting too haha! I remember seeing a cloth pencil case at one shop before and it had "I left my Prada pencil case at home" written on it! Hahahaha. So cute.
