What's Inside My Makeup Bag?

Ever since I started blogging, I have been getting a few e-mails from people asking me about the makeup products that I use on a daily basis. Although I have done my best in getting back to everyone and answering all of the questions, I've decided to write a blog post dedicated solely to what exactly is inside my makeup bag. Let's take a look, shall we? :)

SNAKESKIN MAKEUP BAG from Style Lab

BRUSHES
Let's start with the makeup basics: the brushes! These two are the ones that I use daily. The one on the left is a simple kabuki brush that I bought from SUESH. I use this to apply my blush on the apples of my cheeks and to blend it upward to my temples. The one on the right is a kabuki brush from SIGMA, which I simply love and use the most! It's so soft on the skin and I use it mainly to apply my powder.

I mainly use four different powders, depending on where I'm going and what look I'm trying to achieve.

1. NYX "Stay Matte But Not Flat" - This is my main powder-foundation which I use almost everyday. If I'm not going anywhere special, I use this shade 004 Creamy Natural because it gives me just the right amount of coverage (enough to cover most blemishes, but not too much so I look too dolled up)

2. REVLON "Photo Ready" - When I first bought this powder, I was disappointed because it did not provide good coverage. The luminous finish was nice, but I personally want my powder to cover most of my blemishes and even out my skin tone, which this simply did not do. However, I discovered that this could be used as a highlighter instead, and so I use this mainly to highlight my cheekbones and the center of my nose whenever I'm in the mood for contouring.

3. NYX "Stay Matte But Not Flat" - This is basically the same as #1 but it's in a darker shade (006 Medium Beige). I use this for contouring or during the summertime when I need a darker shade of powder to match my tan.

4. MAC "Studio Fix" - This is by far the best makeup product I have ever used. It has a very high coverage which I love! I don't even need to use my liquid foundation anymore whenever I use this. It covers all of my blemishes and evens out my skin tone perfectly! Yes, it's pricey, but it is absolutely worth it because it lasts for such a long time! Mine lasted for 8 months, and considering how many times I retouch my face every single day, that's quite impressive.

BODY SHOP CONCEALERS
For my concealer, I use two kinds. Both are from The Body Shop and they are equally as good. I use the green Tea Tree concealer for under my eyes, and I use the pencil one (which is a much lighter shade) as an alternative "highlighter".

NYX BLUSHES
I am very much in love with NYX blushes because they are extremely affordable and they are very heavily pigmented. A little goes a long way, and the best part is that at the end of a long day, the blush is still very much visible on my cheeks and never seems to fade. I use the colors "Peach" and "Dusty Rose".

LIP BALMS
To prep my lips, I use the Baby Lips lip balm from Maybelline. It moisturizes my lips very well throughout the day. Sometimes when I'm not in the mood to put on lipstick, I also use this Crystallized Color lip balm/gloss from Fleur.

MACAROON LIP GLOSS
This is another lip gloss that I love to use. It has a very nice scent and it leaves my lips feeling extremely moisturized.

EXCEL PARIS LIP TINTS
For long-lasting lip color, I can always rely on these amazing lip tints. The color stays vibrant on my lips for hours! The red one on the right is my favorite because it's such a strong and fiery shade of red. I always feel confident whenever I wear it. It's almost like liquid confidence!

LIPSTICKS
As for my lipsticks, these three are the main ones I use. I use the red one on the left when I'm feeling sexy and bold. It's from Dollhouse and it has a little bit of shimmer in it. The one in the middle is also from Dollhouse and I use it mostly when I go to school because the color is not as bold (although it looks bright in this photo, it's actually very sheer when applied on the lips). The neon pink lipstick on the right is my absolute favorite! It's a bit "Nicki Minaj" but I love using it when I'm going for a dolly look.

This is my brush set that I bought in Thailand. To be honest, I don't really use these much, except for contouring and highlighting, which I don't do everyday. Still, it's always handy to own a set of different brushes. You never know when you're gonna need them

So that's pretty much everything that's inside my little makeup bag. These are just the products I use on-the-go and for touch-ups. Maybe I'll write another blog post later on about my complete make-up collection, but these are the ones I use most of the time.

How about you? What's in YOUR makeup bag? I would love to know! :)

If you have any other questions or if you want me to do a review of some of these products, feel free to leave a comment below!

  4. I have kabuki brushes that I don't use just because I like how they look. I'm so weird. Back to the topic at hand, I like the body shop's concealers and the tea tree line. It works pretty well to give me an even skin tone.
