The View From The Afternoon

Sometimes I'm just not in a creative mood or in the right frame of mind to be able to put together a nice outfit. Other times, I'm just in a rush and simply do not have the time to look for the clothes I want to wear (blame it on my extremely disorganized closet lol). During these unfortunate events, I always rely on my 'safe' outfit choice, which basically consists of skinny jeans, a random top, a blazer, and whatever necklace I can grab from my dresser. My safety colors, on the other hand, are black, white, red, and blue (although not necessarily worn all together).

Black has always been my main go-to color when it comes to clothes because everybody looks good in black and it's such a classic staple. In fact, most of my blazers are black. The one I'm wearing today is from What A Girl Wants and it's one of my favorite blazers because it has a gray vest attached to it and the back detail is so cute. I've also come to find that red always seems to suit me well which is why I am often compelled to buy bags in this strong fiery shade. Light blue is also nice, because it brightens up my skin color, like this chambray top from COPPER. 

These colors are what work for me and so I know I can never go wrong if I stick to this palette. They're safe because they've been tried and tested. It's important for you to try out different colors until you see what works for your skin tone.

Colors can make or break your entire look. I personally stay away from brown because it washes out my complexion, and I absolutely refuse to wear anything orange because it looks terrible on me. However, it took time for me to discover what works for me and what doesn't. That's why it's crucial to experiment and try out different things before settling for what you think is best.

Always remember that what looks good on someone else may not look good on others. Try to notice what looks best for your particular skin color and your body shape. Don't wear something simply because other people are wearing it. Make sure that it actually suits you and your style too.
