You've Known It The Whole Time

Today I wore this beautiful printed kimono from IKENEA. When people see a bold, striking piece such as this, they automatically think about pairing it with neutral bottoms, like black skinny jeans or denim shorts. Well, that's not the way of The Stylish Bipolar. I guess you could say I've been heavily influenced by Camille Co when it comes to style, because when I see a piece of clothing like this pretty kimono, my mind immediately goes on "print on print" mode. As usual, I went against the norm and opted for houndstooth leggings. 

One way of pulling off "print on print" is to pair small patterns with big ones. The intricate design of my kimono balances well with the large houndstooth pattern, thus creating an ensemble that looks eye-catching but not messy. Well, in my opinion at least (Keep in mind that these are just guidelines/tips and that there are no actual rules when it comes to fashion). I know that there will always be people who frown upon mixing different prints together. I say it's all about how you wear it. You can make anything look good with the right amount of confidence as long as you genuinely love what you are wearing.
