FASHION TIP: "How To Make A Blazer Look Casual"

Blazers are definitely among my all-time favorite fashion items. I own so many of them in various colors and styles, mainly because they have the power to instantly make an outfit look chic and well put-together.

I've discovered that the main concern among some people is that blazers are often considered to be "formal" clothing. I'm sure you wouldn't want to end up looking like an "office lady", but don't worry! Here are three things you can do to achieve a more casual effect even when you're wearing a blazer.

1) Pair it with a graphic shirt.

Formal attire is usually attributed to a black and white color scheme, so wearing a bright and bold shirt with your blazer is an easy way to add a little bit of youthfulness to your overall outfit. Keep the shirt untucked because tucking it in will create a more polished look, which is what we're trying to avoid.

2) Pair it with skinny jeans.

Skinny jeans are the epitome of casual street style. Pairing it with your blazer will give off that often desired "casual chic" vibe. You can also opt for ripped jeans if you want to look a bit edgier (the contrast made by the mixture of "preppy" and "edgy" will create a very interesting look). Go with whatever makes you feel comfortable and suits your personal style.

3) Wear casual footwear.

Choosing the right pair of shoes is crucial in ensuring that you don't end up looking too dressed up. People normally don't think about wearing casual slip-ons with their blazers, but it actually looks good! Choose a bright pair of slip-ons or espadrilles to make your ensemble more fun and dressed down.
