Black Widow

I guess you could say that I'm a rebel in a lot of ways, most especially when it comes to style. I always like to break "fashion rules" because I like to think that we can look good in anything as long as we stay true to ourselves. When someone tells me not to pair gold with silver or wear print on print, I intentionally do it just to prove them wrong. I also hate being labeled and categorized into a box. If I hear someone describing my style as preppy and classic, I will start wearing edgy ensembles and deck myself out in studs just to show that I won't be placed into one category. I guess that's why I've named my loyal blog readers/followers as the #LittleRebels, because I want all of you to go beyond the norm and prove that fashion has no boundaries.

Yesterday, I was told that as a fashion blogger, I am known as someone who wears extravagant ensembles because I always rely on bright colors and different patterns in order to get noticed. Well, I just couldn't bring myself to accept the label that I have been put in, so for today's OOTD, I chose to keep the color palette basic.

I wanted to prove that I do not need to wear bright colors or loud prints in order to make a statement. I can wear black and stick to the basics (a plain top + blazer + ripped boyfriend jeans) and still be able to look stylish and have that "wow" factor. After all, you don't always have to overdo it in order to turn heads and steal the show.

Since blazers are often considered to be a formal attire, I made the conscious decision to pair mine with casual jeans, slip-ons, and a plain top.

Would you believe that this is actually my first pair of boyfriend jeans ever? Actually it's not that surprising, since I don't even have a boyfriend lol!

I usually stay away from high-waisted pants because I thought they'd make me look shorter, but I've found that they are actually quite flattering for my body type.
